MTV’s Buzzworthy has a new article on Chris and new photos, as well! Check it all out below!

Exclusive MTV Photos: NeverShoutNever!

Christofer Drew, aka Never Shout Never, posted a new photo to his MySpace yesterday afternoon. That’s less than 24 hours ago. At last count, the photo had accumulated 3,084 comments (I’ve had to go back and adjust that number three times since I started writing because it keeps going up). That’s just plain mental.

In the photo, Drew stands barefoot on a stool, in a nautical tank top, with his decorated wings spread. He has a peace symbol tattooed on his left foot, but you already knew that. You know because Christofer Drew is a big deal. His Internet popularity is off the charts — the 283,867 friends and 18,659,515 profile views he’s amassed on MySpace have put him among the most buzzed-about bands of 2009. Oh, and his heart-breakingly charming songs don’t hurt, either.

What you may not know, is that the MySpace photo that’s generating all the comments came from an exclusive MTV shoot with our buddy Brian Appio. Something tells me you might be interested in seeing the rest of the set… Am I right?

Houston Press

Sunday, April 12th, 2009

The Houston Press did a review on one of the dates of the Bamboozle Roadshow. Here is an excerpt about Chris:

Aftermath: Bamboozle Roadshow at House of Blues

Christofer Drew, the brainchild behind MySpace breakthrough sensation NeverShoutNever!, made everyone in the audience bounce along to his upbeat yet mellow songs of high-school crushes and “BigCityDreams.” His songs, reminiscent of a Jack Johnson/Jason Mraz hybrid, sounded fuller than on his albums, and the powerful drums made it nearly impossible to resist the urge to jump along.

Drew himself is only a senior in high school, so his quirky and vulnerable demeanor onstage gave him instant credibility with the crowd. After playing “Trouble,” about being infatuated with a girl, he sheepishly admitted to the audience, “I’m Christofer Drew, and I have a crush on you.”

Emo Goes Pop

Monday, April 6th, 2009

The OC Register mentioned Chris in one of their articles about Bamboozle Left:

Emo goes pop at first half of Bamboozle in Irvine

I stumbled upon that just after racing over to hear the last moments of NeverShoutNever!, the alias for young singer-songwriter Christofer Ingle, who lured me his direction by tenderly covering the Beatles’ “I Want to Hold Your Hand” and who comes off so innocuously that when he tells fans to throw their fingers in the air, they know it’s for snapping, not flipping the bird. By the time I got to his stage to find throngs of girls swooning over his bouncy pop confections, I deeply regretted wasting time on Asher Roth.

“Losing It” + Yahoo

Friday, April 3rd, 2009

“Losing It” has been uploaded on NeverShoutNever’s myspace. What do you think of the song?

Also, NSN! was featured in Yahoo’s “Who’s Next?” blog. Not sure I like how this lady is pegging all NSN! fans as 12 year old little girls, but any press is good press, I suppose (:

Buzzworthy Feature

Saturday, March 21st, 2009

NeverShoutNever! was featured on MTV’s popular Buzzworthy blog.

BUZZWORTHY OBSESSION: NEVERSHOUTNEVER!

Don’t be fooled by the exclamation point, the quirky spelling, or the Rod Stewart haircut. NeverShoutNever!, aka Christofer Ingle, isn’t the next electrified Cali-punk neon band. His songs are constructed of the same chords and patterns as your usual Warped Tour fare, but Ingle strums many of them on a ukulele, often with very little accompaniment. And while he does have some faster songs, NeverShoutNever! sounds more like a folk-pop troubadour than a pop-punk troublemaker.

Of course that hasn’t stopped Missouri-native Ingle from filling out bills with The Honorary Title, Forever The Sickest Kids, The Cab and Mercy Mercedes. Whether it’s those connections or his irresistible heartsick yodel that won him a coveted slot at two of this year’s Bamboozles, I can’t say. But I can say that 2009 is gonna be a major year for this quirky up-and-comer.

Watch NeverShoutNever’s “Big City Dreams” video below, and get acquainted with the most charming folk-popper on the punk circuit.

Never Say Never Festival

Friday, March 20th, 2009

There was an article about the Never Say Never Festival that Chris (among many others) performed at and NSN! was mentioned in the article. Here’s all the parts about Chris:

The Maine pulled a big crowd with their energetic performance, but it was nevershoutnever was the big draw for many. While nevershoutnever wasn’t the headliner, the 18-year-old with a ukulele brought some girls to tears.

“I came for them and nevershoutnever, but ended up liking a lot more,” said the 17-year-old Harlingen resident. While checking out two of her favorites, she discovered local band The Requested and Fear Before.

MTV Article

Tuesday, December 30th, 2008

Christofer is talked about in a You R Here, MTV News article from a month ago. Here is the excerpt:

Opening for Hellogoodbye was the much-talked-about 17-year-old Christopher Drew. Like many of the indie scene’s most prominent players (Bright Eyes, Iron & Wine and Pedro the Lion to name a few), Drew goes under the moniker of nevershoutnever! — though he’s the single permanent member of the band. Hailing from Joplin, Missouri, tonight he’s joined by an acoustic guitarist, and plays through songs off his recently self-released Yippee EP, and a few others that have helped garner his 60,000 MySpace plays per day.

Though songs like the cheerful “bigcitydreams” and stripped-down “yourbiggestfan” were easily the most popular of his set, Drew commanded the voices of his fans like those reminiscent to the acoustic days of Dashboard Confessional’s eye-opening MTV “Unplugged” set. Almost everyone in the room knew every word to every song, and sung with a passion not seen in today’s electronic-infested music scene.

Dressed simply in a T-shirt, jeans and vest, Christopher Drew could be mistaken for any other teenage boy in the room. Maybe it’s his average looks, maybe it’s his honesty, but one thing’s for sure: Christoper Drew of nevershoutnever! has a bright future ahead of him, not only for his catchy pop sounds, but personable attitude to back it up.
